Tension mounts as all of Neuwirth anticipates whether or not the two teachers can pull off a costume theme that eluded them last year

October is the month for cooler temperatures, seasonal foods, and of course the main event, Halloween. What better way to celebrate it than knowing that our two funnest teachers, Mr. Paranjpe and Mr. Hou are said to be matching costumes this year?

Before looking forward to what they are planning to be this year, let's rewind to the fiasco that occurred just a year ago when they were supposed to dress up with a clear plan in place to wow students and staff, but fate intervened with other plans.

Weeks before Halloween, Mr. Paranjpe decided to get sick. When Mr. Hou found out, he was deeply hurt and stated “he was a coward and didn’t show up to school.’’ Mr Hou’s frustration towards Mr. Paranjpe made him seriously question whether or not he should give Paranjpe another chance to redeem himself this year. But Mr. Hou did understand where Mr. Paranjpe was coming from as anyone could easily get sick, and when a person is sick it's a mentally challenging task to accomplish a great costume. Thankfully, Mr. Hou forgave Mr. Paranjpe, and set up the costume redemption opportunity this year.

To make matters worse, Mr. Hou diligently created his costume by hand, with all the supplies (*hint) he needed to create an elaborate black coat and cape around his neck, but threw out everything in anger when he was betrayed by Paranjpe just days before the big day last year. This means that Hou will have to recreate his masterpiece and Paranjpe will have to work overtime to get his costume ready as well.

Characters from the show What We Do In the Shadows

This year Mr. Hou and Mr. Paranjpe are seeking restitution for the debacle of last year and dressing up as characters from What We Do in the Shadows. If you’re not familiar, it’s a fake documentary-style show like The Office, but with vampires. Other teachers planned join the theme, but we know that didn’t happen. Will Ms. Martinez be brave enough to dress as Nadja (middle above)?

As Halloween is a couple of days away, we hope you’re on the lookout for Mr.Hou and Paranjpe’s costumes. Will they or will they not match? Will this story have a happy ending, or will it be another letdown that tests the limits of a beautiful friendship?
